Polymer-Clay and Brass Chandelier

This is my most ambitious polymer-clay project to date. While I also used a lot of new clay, much of the clay was "left-over" clay from projects in classes I teach. I never throw out clay, it can be reclaimed using texture sheets and mica powder, it can have metal-leaf sheets added and run through the clay pasta machine, etc. I've used both of these techniques extensively in this project.

While it is not readily apparent, there are minute spaces around the clay tiles that allow light to filter through for interesting light effects. Also, wherever there is a glass cabochon a round hole has been cut out behind it so the light also shines through the glass.
