This yard ornament was made with a recycled bowling ball and terra cotta pots.
The bowling ball was first embedded in a small round terra cotta tray, using a grouting mixture made with sanded grouting and Elmer's glue with a small amount of water. The "jewels" are glass drops, and small glass tiles. The swirling "river" areas are small gold-color chips found (inexpensively) in the floral department. Accents of chain define the edges of these swirls.
The two terra cotta pots that are top to top have been secured by grouting a heavy wire mesh that extends behind the collars of both pots.
The ball top with tray is separate, and could be used as an outdoor table decoration.
