"Crash Glass" Table

I constructed this  19.5" x 19.75" table of  'Crash Glass', Lucite top, lower base, and center pedestal, with round wood ball feet. The Crash Glass was attached to the Lucite with clear glue, and then grouted. The fixtures at the base of the pedestal are a plastic sewer-pipe fitting and for weight a shape made of white grouting that was molded in a pie plate. The color was applied with alcohol inks and permanent markers.

The top of the table is glass from a broken auto windshield, and the center column and lower disk are tempered glass from a scrap shower door. The tempered glass can be picked up by the handful without getting cut.
