Occasional Tables With Plastic "Bulb" Legs

These recycle table projects have 1/2" PVC legs covered with plastic bottle "bulbs" made by gluing 2 cut bottle tops together. The large bulbs are from 2 liter bottles, and the smaller ones are from Gatorade, and BAI coconut water bottles. The bulbs are enhanced with low-temp hot glue and colored with alcohol ink.

The top table top has crash-glass on a recycled drum-cover.

The bottom table has a top and base of plywood covered with paint-splattered canvas.

"Wonky Bottles"

These "Wonky Bottles" are from recycled plastic bottles. The tops have been cut off, the bottles held over a candle to create the shapes you see. The color is alcohol ink, with gold color puffy paint details. The bottle on the top right is a Dawn detergent bottle, with low-temperature hot glue squiggles, finished with an opaque black alcohol ink for color.

The lower left and right had low-temperature hot glue squiggles-with gold puffy paint over that-which gives a heavier molten-gold texture.

"Spiral Crash-Glass Sculpture With Companion Pedestal"

The sculpture is made with recycled plastic and glass, and has embedded micro-mini LED lights, with alcohol ink providing the color over which clear recycled glass is glued.

The companion pedestal has similar glass-art panels. Pipe insulators were used as interspersing panels and around the collar and base. There is cement in the base for stability. The height of the sculpture and pedestal is 71".

"Sunflower Fantasy"

This piece is based on 3 levels of plexiglass. The plexiglass has been painted white on the back and the piece is meant to be hung on a wall. The colors of the background are done with alcohol ink. The glass-which is all safe to work with -  are various sizes of ground glass originally from the Los Lunas, NM recycling department, and tempered glass-"crash glass" from recycled shower doors and other recycled glass.

The flowers, leaves and stems are made from various recycled plastic. The leaves and stems have been painted with mixture of Mod Podge and acrylic paint over which glass sand has been sprinkled. The large sunflowers were originally the covers of take-out orders of salads.

"Crash-Glass With 3-D Recycled Plastic Flowers"

With these pieces I have combined "crash glass" - recycled glass from tempered glass, and from the Los Lunas NM recycling station which grinds glass making it safe to handle, along with the 3-dimensional flowers made from recycled plastic.

This piece is called "Poppy Field" and the one below is "Iris Fantasy."
